Hi, I'm Olivier Deheurles. As of December 2022, I'm 42. I was born and grew up in east of France, I've lived 10 years in Paris, 10 years in London, a year near Lisbon and I currently live near Barcelona in Spain.

Ten years ago I co-founded a software consultancy called Adaptive. Today we're approaching 300 staff, have offices globally and have about $50M in revenue. My background is computer science, I started my career as a developer and I'm now the CTO of Adaptive.

I'm also the dad of two. My son Natty is 10 and my daughter Billy 9. They're both homeschooled.

Why this site?

As my kids are homeschooled I spend a fair bit of time thinking about what I'd like them to learn about. This site is a place for me to document my thoughts and my research. There's a lot of stuff I wish I learned at school or with my parents and instead learned the hard way in my 30s and 40s.

I'm planning to cover the following topics with my kids and to document them here:

1. Continuous learning: learn where to find good information/kneowledge, develop the habit of learning every day, takes notes to retain knowledge and share that knowledge with others
2. Time management: how to organise time, beeing focused and productive while keeping stress low
3. Habits: how habits play a major role in your life and how you can control them
4. Longevity and health: how to increase your chances to live longer and in better shape.
5. Happiness: what makes us feel happy and what we should focus on to live a good life
6. Money, personal finance: how to think about money, how and why you may want to become financially independant
7. Entrepreneurship: what entrepreneurship looks like, what it takes to do it and why you may want to try or not
